“Faced with the failure and loss of natural teeth,
we can replace them by imitating nature”

Implantology

When parts are missing, the most physiological solution is to replace them with implants.
Implants are the artificial roots on which one, several, or even all the missing pieces are placed afterward to allow chewing and smiling normally again.

Sometimes it is necessary to perform more complex techniques to increase the volume of bone on which to place the implant.
The solution of replacing pieces by means of implants allows rehabilitating from cases of a single dental absence to others in which several and even all the pieces are missing. Remember that the implant is only the anchor inside the bone: it is not an end in itself.
The important thing is the rehabilitation that supports, be it a single tooth or several.
Dental implants are, as reported by the European Osseointegration Society, screw-like fixations that are attached to the maxillary or mandibular bone.
This screw - the implant itself -, normally made of titanium, replaces the root of the missing tooth.
Crowns, bridges, or other dental prostheses will be fixed on the implant that will replace the missing piece.
Osseointegration, for its part, is the integration process in which the bone begins to proliferate in contact with the implant surface and which will guarantee its success and stability.
The objective of this technique not only serves an aesthetic function but also seeks to improve dental health and chewing.

Protesis Menorca

Removable prosthesis

They are the ones that can be removed from the mouth and can be partial or complete.
The most widely used are skeletal, or resin devices on both mucosa and implants.

Fixed prostheses

They are those that do not need to be removed from the mouth to clean them. They are fixed, they can be supported by adjacent teeth or molars or by osseointegrated implants.
Crowns are the covers that cover damaged teeth, protecting and reinforcing them, they can be made of metal, porcelain, composite …

Implant prostheses

Crowns: They are dental pieces supported by an implant.
Removable prostheses: They are dentures that can be removed from the mouth, but are anchored by implants, they can be partial or complete.

Fixed prostheses
They are those that do not need to be removed from the mouth to clean them. They are fixed, they can be supported by adjacent teeth or molars or by osseointegrated implants.
Prosthesis on fixed and removable implants, unitary or complete.
Each case is different, personal, and with multiple possibilities.
In meetings with specialists, we study and treat the various options, adapting to the personal characteristics of each patient.
